山羊の足

山羊の足
ブラジルの私達が住んでいる州では誰も耳にしたくない言葉に「山羊の足」というのがあります、というのは運が悪いことを意味するからです。例えばどの店でもお客さんが一杯入っている中に一つの店だけ誰も入っていない。すると人々は言います「ここには山羊の足が埋められている」。家の庭、春になると沢山の花が咲きます。しかしある小さい一角だけ花も咲かないし草も育ちません。ひょっとしてここには本当に山羊の足が埋められているのかも知れません。

Goat´s foot
In our state in Brazil, nobody wants to hear the word “goat’s foot”, because it means bad luck. For example, among many stores full of clients, there is one store where nobody is seen. Then, people say “Here, goat’s foot is buried” . In my garden, when the spring comes, we can see many flowers. But, there is one small space where neither flower nor grass grows. I don’t know if really there is goat’s foot buried.
